First up, a quick message from our President: Welcome to the 2026 netball season at Howick Pakuranga Netball Centre. It is wonderful to see our courts bustling with activity once again as players, coaches, managers, umpires, volunteers, and supporters come together for another exciting season. Netball continues to thrive because of the commitment and passion of our community, and I would like to sincerely thank everyone who contributes their time and energy to making our Centre such a special place. As we embark on a new season, I encourage all members of our community to remember the values that make sport enjoyable and rewarding for everyone. While competition is an important part of netball, respect, sportsmanship, and encouragement should always remain at the heart of what we do. Our players, umpires, coaches, and volunteers deserve a positive environment where they can learn, develop, and enjoy the game. I ask all spectators and sideline supporters to lead by example, celebrate effort and achievement, and show respect towards officials, opposition teams, and fellow supporters. The atmosphere we create on the sidelines has a lasting impact on the experience of our young athletes. We are also pleased to see continued progress and investment in our facilities with opening up another 6 rubberised courts last month. We are currently working on getting other courts water blasted and improving our lights. We have also invested significant time and money on the canopy project which will cover the four courts in front of the grandstand. Maintaining and improving our venue remains a priority, ensuring that our players and members have a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment in which to participate. Thank you to everyone involved in supporting these ongoing improvements, and we look forward to sharing further updates as the season progresses. A special mention goes to our representative teams as they prepare for their upcoming tournaments. Being selected to represent Howick Pakuranga Netball Centre is a significant achievement and reflects the dedication, commitment, and hard work of each player, coach, and management team. On behalf of the HPNC Executive and our wider netball community, I wish all our representative teams the very best for their campaigns. We are incredibly proud of you and look forward to following your progress and celebrating your successes throughout the season. Finally, I would like to acknowledge the many volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes. From committee members and officials to coaches, managers, scorers, and umpires, your contribution is invaluable. Our Centre simply could not operate without your support. I wish everyone a successful, enjoyable, and memorable season. Play hard, play fair, support one another, and most importantly, enjoy being part of our wonderful netball community.
